Our full cookie policy is being prepared. The summary below covers the essentials in the meantime.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. Some cookies are essential for a site to work; others are used to remember preferences or to measure how visitors use a site. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in much the same way.
What we use
- Security: to protect this website and our enquiry forms from spam and automated abuse, our hosting provider may run a quick check in your browser, which can place a short-lived cookie. These are strictly necessary and are not used to track you.
- Maps: the maps on our property and area pages are provided by Mapbox. To count how often its maps are loaded, Mapbox keeps a small anonymous identifier in your browser’s local storage. It does not identify you personally.
- Analytics (only if you accept): Google Analytics sets cookies (
_gaand_ga_*) to count visits and show us which pages people use, so we can improve the site. They last up to two years. Google processes this data on our behalf. Nothing from Google Analytics loads until you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner.
We do not use advertising cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask on every page.
Changing your choice
You can accept or decline analytics cookies at any time. If you decline after accepting, we stop Google Analytics and remove its cookies.
Managing cookies
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete those that have already been set. Doing so may affect how some parts of this site function. For more detail, see your browser’s help pages, or read our privacy policy.
